When it comes to choosing the right bedsheets, buyers often get confused with terms like GSM, thread count (TC) and fabric blends. These factors play a big role in comfort, durability, and pricing. Whether you are a retailer, wholesaler, or hotel supplier, understanding these basics will help you make better purchase decisions.
GSM stands for grams per square meter, which indicates fabric weight.
Lower GSM (300–400): Light, breathable, dries quickly – best for warm climates.
Medium GSM (400–500): Balanced comfort and durability – common for everyday use.
High GSM (500+): Thicker, more luxurious, long-lasting – ideal for premium bedding.
For hotels and exports, 400–600 GSM bedsheets are the most popular.
Thread count refers to the number of threads per square inch of fabric.
200–250 TC: Light and affordable, good for budget or bulk orders.
300–400 TC: Softer, smoother, preferred by hotels and premium buyers.
400+ TC: Very soft and luxurious, but may cost more.
